Room Additions
This project is a story and a half room addition to the owners unit of an older duplex. Besides adding eye appeal, it gave the owner room for a home office. Features are a radiant heated cold climate shallow foundation that combines the concrete slab with the perimeter thickened edge foundation in a single concrete pour operation. This type of slab/foundation is something that will probably become more common
Entry Additions
This job is a JADA design-build entry addition on a typical Alaska “split entry” with just a landing for an entry, with no room for coats, shoes, or shoe removal. Features included south facing windows and skylights, radiant floor heat, cedar siding and bench seat, and double doors for getting large objects (like furniture) in and out of the house. A bay window adjacent to the entry also was installed to add light to the living room. A kitchen remodel was also included in this project.
Remodel Addition
This is a small but very high impact addition to an older ranch style home that lacked adequate kitchen, dining, and bathroom space. The improvement for the space gained was dramatic. What had been a cramped, dark, impossible to photograph kitchen/dining spot became a light and bright, fully functional and inviting kitchen with comfortable dining. The bathroom gained a bit of room as well.
Whole House Addition
This project was a whole house makeover of a 1963 house involving a two story addition, complete interior remodel, and energy rebate work that entitled the owners to the maximum benefits of the rebate program. Front and rear decks give friendly connection to a quiet street, and privacy for a hot tub.
